Cajun Shrimp pasta is a delicious pasta with all the Cajun spice in a creamy, cheesy sauce with delicious shrimp and mushrooms.
This is a great meal for a weeknight dinner, since it takes less than 30 minutes to make. This will also be a great meal to make camping over the open fire.
Serve with garlic bread and a side salad.
Cajun Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 12 oz bow tie pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pint sliced mushrooms
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/3 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese
- Salt and Pepper
Directions
- Step 1 If using frozen shrimp, thaw before by running cold water over the shrimp. Remove tails before cooking.
- Step 2 Boil water and cook pasta according to package.
- Step 3 In a large skillet over medium heat add oil, once oil has heated, add shrimp and season with 1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning. Cook until shrimp is pink, about 2 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Step 4 In the same skillet, add butter and mushrooms, saute mushrooms until cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Add garlic and saute for 2 minutes or until fragrant.
- Step 5 Stir in the heavy cream, chicken broth and 1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning. Bring to simmer and simmer for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and add parmesan cheese, whisk until cheese is combined.
- Step 6 Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce and stir until combined. Season with salt and pepper.
- Step 7 Serve with garlic bread and a side salad.
