Chicken puffs are clouds of creamy chicken all wrapped in a crescent roll, topped with a Parmesan cheese sauce.  This will become a family favorite, your family will rave about. This recipe is so simple and easy to make, this will be a weeknight staple.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken beast
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 Tablespoon green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 Tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 Tablespoon ranch powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-8 oz cans crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • Creamy Parmesan Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cups grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
  • Step 1 To Make Puffs: Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a cooking sheet or line with parchment paper, set aside.
  • Step 2 In a large bowl, combine chicken, cream cheese, green onion, minced onion, ranch powder and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Step 3 Open and unroll crescent dough from cans and press together two triangles to create a rectangle. Make sure the perforations on the triangles are pressed together, so the filling won’t spill out. You will have a total of 8 rectangles.
  • Step 4 Evenly spoon the chicken mixture in the center of the rectangles. Fold each corner over the filling and seal to cover the filling. Shape into a ball. Repeat with all rectangles.
  • Step 5 Once the puffs are formed, dip each into melted butter and then coat in breadcrumbs. Shake off excess. Place on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining puffs.
  • Step 6 Drizzle remaining butter on top of puffs.
  • Step 7 Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Step 8 Creamy Parmesan Sauce: While the puffs are baking make the sauce. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Step 9 Add flour and whisk for 1-2 minutes, whisking constantly until golden and bubbly. Slowly whisk in the milk. Add the chicken bouillon, salt and pepper, stir until combined.
  • Step 10 Stirring constantly over medium heat until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Once thickened, stir Parmesan cheese and turn off heat.
  • Step 11 Serve the puffs warm with cheese sauce.
